This is the part I've never quite understood. How does LATCH help people properly tighten the seat? We used LATCH to install a seat base in one of our cars, and I still had to tighten the LATCH tether strap. It didn't seem any better than using the seat belt, and in fact was more of a pain because I had to dig to get the clips attached to the anchors.
On my UrS4, I thread the seat belt through the holes and center clip in the seat base, pull the belt all the way out to activate the locking mechanism, and then take all the slack out of the belt while putting my weight on the seat base. It's just as tight as the installation I got using LATCH on the other car.

As you probably know LATCH stand for Lower Anchor and Tethers for CHildren.
The tether attaches to forward facing baby seats and is not used on rear
facing seats. The Lower Anchor does the same job as seats belts and locks
the base of the child seat in place.
The Audi dealership should relocate the tether to the seat you need (left,
center, right) for free. In my Avant there are three attachment points
under the carpet and one set of attachment hardware. The lower anchors are
not necessary. The seat belts do just as good a job at holding the seat in
place, but they are a bit more difficult too get tight. Most baby seats
come with a clip that locks the seatbelt. The Lower Anchors were created to
help people properly tighten the seat as many were leaving the seat belt too
loose.
