[s-cars] Spraying coolant res

Hi All,
First post, but I've been lurking for a little while.  I recently
picked up Ian's 95.5 S6 Avant and so far have extremely enjoyed it,
however I'm having a problem with the coolant reservoir and coolant
spraying out from the cap or perhaps the overflow port.

I was informed of the issue when I bought the car, so I replaced the
coolant tank with a Meyle part from 034 and refilled with the
appropriate coolant, but it didn't solve the problem.  I recently
drove up to NH and back, and lost quite a bit of coolant on the way
up, and a little bit less on the way down.

Will a replacement cap fix the problem?  Is it possible I just didn't
have it torqued down enough (hence losing less on the way back)?  If
it's the cap, where is a good place to get one (034, dealer)?  Could
it be something more sinister that's a little more difficult to track
down?

Thanks in advance for the help.  So far I am super pleased with the
car, and I'd like to own it for quite a while, but coolant issues
always terrify me.
