That's the dig on a few of the less acclaimed chips, although it's never
been a prob for me - I also have a TAP via PO, who I think only fell for it
because it comes up first on the Google search for "S6 95 chip upgrade".
Absolutly seriously I'm pretty sure that's the case.
(note to self: call the PO of my next car and advise him on what upgrades to
choose...)
Overall I find nothing is wrong with the TAP chip - aka nothing is about
what it does I think.
OK witty puns aside if it does anything I think it is slightly happier about
dealing with heavy WG spring tension and might run a bit more agressively
than stock in those low-RPM high-boost pre-WG-creep conditions. But a
subtle change if anything for sure. Some have mentioned pinging from
running lean - that could also have been an early development thing that's
been resolved, all the chipmakers go through various iterations. Since mine
was bought just last year it'd be fairly recent and maybe they fattened out
the lean spots, I dunno.
As a TAP owner I would decidedly recommend alternatives particularly
including a new higher boost MAP. And boost hoses of course at the same
time. Might as well do exhaust manifold as well. And Turbo. Injectors
probably? RS2 is what I'm saying.
