[s-cars] Oil Temperature Question-How Hot is too hot

I think there is some misconception on the stock Audi oil cooler and cooler
upgrades. All Audi turbos since the urq, come with a 100C oil temp
thermostat built into the oil filter housing. Assuming you use the stock fittings for
a larger cooler, there should be no difference in achieving normal engine
operating temp than any Audi turbo with a stock oil cooler.

The problem I have with integral oil coolers, is overheat is shared between
fluids, not isolated.

I also have a couple aftermarket sandwich plate style filter adapters for
oil coolers, both of them have changeable temp thermostats in them.

The idea of using a 100C thermo, is that the cooler will always allow the
oil to get hot enough to vaporize the water in the oil.
