Pull the codes, and don't put much stock in the answers provided thus
far- the only one that sounded plausible was the MAF sensor guess.
If you're temporarily unable to pull the codes, then I would suggest
going through the engine compartment looking for loose connectors and
hoses- work your way through the intake system from the very start.
The symptoms suggest a massive air metering fault, like a hose that
has popped off or MAF sensor problem (or in your case, wiring fault to
said sensor.) Few of the other sensors in the Motronic system can
cause that degree of poor running.
