Theodore - In my experience, this is more of an issue with 5000 series
turbos. I had to replace several window regulator assemblies during
ownership of a couple 5000 TQAs. While I've never dealt with the issue on
an S car, removal of the interior door cover should make it painfully
obvious what the problem is. In the case of my older cars, the noise was
coming from a frayed cable. There are ways to replace the cables older
cars, but it's easier to replace the entire assembly. Check it out and
report what you find. And consider relubing your other assemblies, too, as
a preventative measure. Door panel removal is fairly simple.
