So, what can you tell us about that voltage regulator? Did it work on your
alternator? What year is your car?

The voltage regulator is Bosch 1 197 311 027; based on Varon's previous
post I searched http://www.holcombedirect.com and found their part #
09-VRB195MA which is an american made replacement for the Bosch 1 197 311
027
for $5.75, sadly shipping is more than the part at ~$12.
Called and talked with a polite rep, inquired as to where these are made
and of what quality. I was assured they are NOT made in China, but are made
in the USA! So I ordered 2...gotta have a spare for myself or someone else
right? Besides there wasn't any extra cost for shipping the 2nd
voltage regulator.
The voltage regulator should be here Friday, so I'll report back.
At this ridiculiously low price I recommend everyone grab a spare
to have in their car, it isn't fun sitting in a car next to the highway
for 3 hours...add that I couldn't open a window or listen to the
radio made it even less fun.
