Hi list,
finally got the new to me engine installed after my dad blew it up months
ago (long story I could elaborate on later) and am questioning the ignition.
so much stuff was cracked, melted, charred, etc from such severe overheating
it took me 2 weeks to complete the task after waiting for more&more parts I
found killed along the way.. car ran fine at idle while the lifters quieted
and I confirmed no leaks before a test drive. afterward, has a steady coil
like stumble. anyway, if the white coil connections (voltage supply on
firewall) are swapped, would this lead to coil or POS failure? my paint
marks washed away (guess I cleaned too thoroughly) so I relied on how the
wires laid comfortably to decide which went where.. kind of odd that both
female harnesses have 3(6total) live pins while the male ends have one with
2 and one with 3 as a 5 cylinder should.
or im dealing with fried OE coils with about an oil change worth of miles ..
the coil connectors (same age) came apart in pieces..
I keep recycling the phrase he spoke the night he murdered my original AAN
.. "I kept downshifting but it wouldnt make any more power"
BTW my limited forensic skills lead me to believe this was all caused by
broken T fitting coming off the heater core.. and when the warning lights
came on he ignored them because I warned him that the fuel gauge was flaky..
sigh...
