Brian:  Sad story.  I guess you have to watch when you give your car to teenagers (at heart).

Anyway, as for the coil power connectors, they don't care which of the two 3 female pin
firewall bracket connectors they go into. All 6 supply switched 12 V power.

You might have a coil (or POS) issue but it might just be brittle cracked wiring and/or connectors.
Some of the connectors can be replaced with new or scrounged.
