BTDT in a car and unfortunately hit the car, not pretty. Having gotten my motorcycle license before my auto license I believed I had a pretty well developed sense of driving ahead but you never know. A neighbor just got dinged as he signaled, pulled out to pass on a divided highway, and was met with the fender of someone who was behind him in the travel lane also attempting a pass. After contact, which was significant enough to disable my friends car, the other driver just kept going! I can't imagine the criminal indifference in Brett's case, as the culprit would have pretty much had to walk over him to leave the car! Situations like these that have led me over time to make 2 immediate changes to the older used cars I tend to buy, uprated headlights and uprated horns. Hella supertones and air horns highly recommended. Be careful out there.

JUST as I got along side of the
guys car (which was half on the shoulder, anticipating what ultimately
turned out to be a U-turn in front of an entire lane of traffic) the guy
abruptly turned left, fully into my lane. I was able to avoid him, but the
turn back to the right to stay on the pavement set up a wicked tank-slapper
at more than 70 MPH. I was able to stay on the gas (remember, it's all of
115HP in one of those old Q's) and get her back under control, but it took 4
cycles before she settled down.
