IIRC, it's possible to reach the aforementioned nut using several 
fairly long extensions to provide needed length and also a bit of 
needed "slop" to allow getting on the nut.  You reach it from aft of 
the downpipe using just the right "hole" to slip the socket in 
there.  Yes the job is fun - that is - it's fun if you consider a 
sharp blow to the n**ts to be fun.  It's a royal PITA but it's doable.
