[s-cars] Whistling revisited

I have had a very similar problem recently with only minor performance issues. There were no codes and it was very difficult to spot.
Ended up being the MAF to turbo inlet hose - ripped right at the turbo connection. I have 3 of these hoses, all torn in the same place. This area does see pressure when the bypass valve opens and dumps boost back to the turbo inlet to prevent compressor stall. This tear opens when the power comes in and the motor shifts slightly on the mounts, thus giving a vacuum whistle with no boost. The 3B and AAN hoses look almost identical but are not the same. The breather hose take off on the 3B is much closer to the turbo than the AAN hose.
Anyone have a source for the 3B hose? I need 2.

After I installed the 034 phenolic spacer I noticed a whistle at about 2700
PM.
Is your post suggesting you now notice a performance issue?
I'd be interested to know if its a constant, or only prior to full operating
emp. I really only notice the whistle prior to average running temp.
BTW, I wouldnt suggest a phenolic spacer, but had the extra funds and
uriosity at the time.

to affect performance at all. I met with another Scar owner last
night and realized it isn't normal at all....so here goes:

I have a distinct whistling noise above ~750RPM but before boost
actually kicks in. I can hear it most with the windows down cruising
around 2500-3000RPM. It sounds like it's coming from the turbo, or at
least that side of the engine. The car seems to make good boost, and I
haven't really noticed any weird symptoms. I initially ignored it
because when I had my head R/R'd, it came back to me with this noise.
I can't say with any certainty whether it was there before or not.

Any ideas on what it might be? I don't have the gear at home to
pressure test, but maybe I can check with windex or soap water to see
if any bubbles form. My lower IC hose is samco, but the upper one is
stock. IM and turbo are stock, 135k miles on all. Could it be the
bypass valve? Can I test that myself?
