I talked to Greg Haymann, of Autofirme, Amenia,NY about this last Fall. He's
an independent Audi specialist and I believe a French Horn player as well.
He said he had good luck with Alpine HD's having installed Alpine CDA-102's
in at least his and at least  1 customer's

'95.5 Avant's. He also installs something called the PAC SOEM-4 which is a
line level converter that allows the HD to "play nice" with the installed
BOSE amplified speakers.  A friend and I are hoping to go down there after
Christmas to have that setup installed in his wife's Urs4.

PS The Alpine CDA-102 has USB & Aux Input on front panel. As you go farther
up the Alpine food chain you can get IPOD and Bluetooth as well.
