"Non-vented" batteries still vent, they just send out through the caps
instead of funneling it through a vent tube. I "think" I've been successful
(so far) with a "non-vented" battery by covering over the entire battery
cap area and funneling that to the vent tube. So far no visible corrosion
effects under the seat, and the car hasn't exploded yet, although it took on
garage queen status at the end of October and it's been too cold to bother
with venturing under the seat ATM.
