I made the harness and switched to the 1.8 coils shortly after the post of the diagram and parts list.
I think that's about 3-4 years ago? Hard to remember.
Anyway I have used several different part number coils (suffix letters) and had about the same luck with all of them. They seem to last about 1-2 years +/-. When new they run fine with no issues while running 28 lbs boost.
I think I have about 4 or 5 more sets I can buy to equal the cost of replacing the OEM coils and POS's at the onset of POS failure.
I know some have not been pleased with the switch over, but for me it was well worth it, and I'd do it again. FWIW, I made an "adapter" to plug into the original harness leaving it intact so it could be put back to OEM any time in the future.

Subject: [s-cars] Poll: Who's using a 1.8T coil conversion

I have the Apikol loom and started with 5 brand new 1.8T coils. Prior to the
witch I had an annoying random hiccup under load (light or heavy) that I cannot
eproduce at idle and that is still present. Car is stock save for a Stromung
xhaust. I have replaced plugs, FPR, iggy switch. My question is how many of you
re running the Apikol or home made loom with updated coils with success, and
hich coils are you using (V8, 2.0T, other?)
