[s-cars] viscous fan bearing

Hey Rus,

Wait just a minute! You need to have that bracket in good condition
to receive the new bearing/shaft assembly, and it has to retain it in
place during all sorts of
adverse conditions. I would say nix on the heat on that aluminum
bracket - same with a hammer. If you don't have a suitable bearing
puller or press to remove and
reinstall the bearing, I highly recommend you take it to someone to do
this job.

The assembly needs to be pulled straight out and the new bearing
pressed straight in. If it cocks, it will likely deform the aluminum
housing and give trouble with shaft
wobble that is magnified at the fan blade edge, and may not fit snugly
enough to prevent the whole thing from walking out of the socket
during operation.

I urge that you proceed with caution.

Tom
