Wow, this is a spirited debate, but has so far overlooked how this dude (or dudette) takes care of the cleanliness of their ride, to wit: "working at a shop, I detain and wax the car every couple of days." I didn't know detaining a car makes it look better, but i think that is what's meant. Must have to hold 'er back to apply the wax.
Smell check obviously didn't work so good here, "detaining" is not how you smell "detailing", dontchaknow...
