Agree completely - platform codes are completely useful in the right
settings. "I need a part for B4" (aka doesn't matter what year). "I loved
the 3 Type-44 cars I had." (aka don't need to give you a list of them here)
and staying on-topic "I need a C4 part" (aka NOT an UrS specific part).
As noted before particularly helpful in transition periods, and similarly to
clarify so the receiver doesn't have to remember exactly when the B5 - B6
transition occurred for instance... Oh ok we're talking the 2nd generation
A4 grill... please go on...
Yeah sometimes it's a bit alphabet soup overkill to say '02B6A41.8TQA. But
whatever, I got other stuff to be cantakerous about. Speaking of which,
gotta go I need to rant about how much eBay sucks on another online forum.
Frickin eBay scumbags.
