[s-cars] Audi A4 with broken lower control arm Yikes!

I had a 99.5 A4 1.8T Avant that had the recall done on the control arms.  We drove the car approx 75K miles from that point with nary a problem.  Granted, this is in NC, not the Great White North.

This is a known weak spot in the A4 suspension, though I haven't heard of breakage like your speaking of.  They only last around 30K miles from what I've heard.  Check the A4 forums if you haven't already.

These are OEM parts.. with a non-aggressive driver.
Thanks for the reply.. it's the first time I've seen such a failure of
Aluminum suspension support hardware.
