I've had my GPS on my windshield continuosly in my always-unlocked
5ktq for over a year in about 25 cities across at least 15 states.
That includes leaving it in a parking lot in downtown ATL for 8 hours.
It's still there. I occasionally tuck the unit itself away (I do keep
the trunk locked), but the mount has always been there. Maybe its the
car? The other 5ktq (with a fancy radio) and A8q (which has a gps on
the windshield) have not-exactly-legally-tinted windows which may help
them some.
That's why I leave the daily driver unlocked... Nobody is dumb enough
to take a 5ktq, and I'd rather them take what they want from inside
without making me replace glass! Well, ok, the other reason it stays
unlocked is the drivers door lock actuating rod has been off/broken
and I haven't gotten to fixing it ;-).
