Android based cellphone such as Verizon Motorola Droid, along with the
windshield mount- google maps is as good as any Garmin/TomTom/factory nav
that I've used, you can voice command all the nav commands and you don't
have to worry about it being stolen since it's your cellphone.
Alternative from other carriers:
T-Mobile- Google Nexus One
AT&T- you're screwed- the Nexus One doesn't do 3G over AT&T's network and
the Motorola GSM version of the Moto Droid is not available in the US unless
you buy one from overseas, unlocked
Verizon- if you don't like the Moto Droid, the HTC Droid Eris is quite nice
as well
