I don't recall where the cutout occurs in the circuit, but it occurs at the
relay.
So, here's what you're going to do:
Wire in the HID ballast, relayed, with relay sockets (probably underhood).
This will need a +12V low amperage signal from the switch.
Just check the wiring at the switch. It's either cut out before or after
the switch. If after the switch, then you have your +12V, low amperage wire
for the new relay. If before, you'll take the relay signal to switch and
rewire it so it's switched +12V. That said, I'm 98% certain the factory
relay is after the switch.
If you're hell-bent on using the factory relay, you can rewire (jumper) it.
But personally I'd bypass it.
