What I've found is that the cheaper tires tend to be more one-dimensional-
they might have awesome dry grip, but compromised severely in ride quality
or in wet performance or treadwear or some other factor.

With the best of the higher-end tires, you get well-rounded performance- the
RE-11, the PS2 are much better tires overall- smooth ride, low noise,
awesome grip.
