[s-cars] Lots of water in footwell & how to remove the carpet

The center console forward part has a secret flap on the drivers side
in the carpeted area near the front. Open it to reveal a 10mm nut.
Then the one piece carpet will perhaps come out in one piece. A
dehumidifier would probably work as well as totally removing the
carpet once you have access to the cable channels underneath the
carpet floor and can get air to the molded foam, but now that you have
gone this far, why not. I assume you have carefully removed the kick
panels also. I would be inspecting the airbox for some previous
repair work that might not have included replacing the seal or leaks
around the fuse/relay box in the plenum area. Make sure the drains
are totally clear so that a hard rain can escape as fast as it enters
and not temporarily hold enough water to overflow into the cabin.
