[s-cars] Lots of water in footwell & how to remove the carpet

Jeremy,
I thought that was worth a shot since many descriptions don't mean what
they say. The carpet was installed before the frame for the radio
and c/c
panel was installed and the heater air box and ductwork also, so cutting
that forward part that goes in front of the transmission shifter
opening is
probably the best option. Even if you remove the oval rubber boot for
the
air box inlet, you would still have to work the carpet out and back in.
Myself, I would just vacuum up any standing water and put a portable
dehumidifier in there for several days while the carpet is lifted up
unless
some previous driver has insisted on drinking large lattes while
driving.
That, or a smoker would drive me to thoroughly clean the inaccessible
parts of the carpet and use a large bottle of Lexol leather cleaner
followed by
their conditioner while the seats are accessible.
Good luck with finding the leak, since drying things out will be for
naught
unless the leak is plugged.
