thanks for that confirmation. when I bought my last aftermarket on a
moderate budget I had the same kind of impression, and was shocked at how
crappy what was available seemed to be.

basically what is on the market seems more oriented on how bright crazy the
neon illumination colors are and how flashy the sub and amps look for the
ricey poser modders, vs. how substantial the actual audio and functionality
is.

sounds like a niche product / market opportunity to me...
