Gentz,
I contacted Lloyds mats andwas forwarded to Alex who is quite informed on this
subject.
He informed me that essentially anything that has S4, S6, A4 etc including UrS4
Audi claims as copyrighted.
You can have a mat for a chevy labeled A4, but not one to go in an A4.
They had a contract with VW, but lost that recently. Essentially Audi wants as
much of the floor mat business
as they can get and won't license any companies. Lloyd's used to make mats for
Audi as OEM and when they
lost that contract Audi also ceased the licensing agreement; however he stated
that the generation of Audi management
that made that decision is now gone.
Alexbelieves that if we contact AoA through a club to have mats made for us
(not resale) that Audi will approve it.
If Audi provides us with written approval Lloyds will imprint anything we want
on the mat, they still have the templates
to make the mats (which you an order blank) and the Audi four ring logo; other
logos would have a set up fee.
IWe would have to order the mats directly through Lloyds not any retailer, they
would do a custom run and have it completed
in about 3 days.
I have Alex's email address and phone number to contact him,
Regards
Chris

Perhaps Lloyd Mats would be a good contact?

If anyone knows the deal w/ what happened to make Lloyds stop producing the
embroidered stuff please chime in.

Hello Mr Bean
Tim Eaton forwarded me your email. The short answer to questions like this is
that we really dont have any kind of Heritage department on this side of the
ocean. It would be nice to develop a better support structure for vintage Audis
but we dont have the people to do it right now.Do you have any details on the
situation you mentioned with Lloyds? I dont know who would be in charge of
that kind of thing around here. What were they producing? Who approached them
about trademark infringement and when?
Best regards,
Carter Balkcom
