+1 to Erics idea here. I think that's a good call - somekind of foo-acrylate
to bond the pieces, but then add something with more mass behind it for
structural reinforcement.

FYI I get some good tricks with polymeric PU (aka gorilla glue) playing with
adding a tiny amount of moisture to get it to blow (aka foam) into various
densities. I might try that in this case - a tiny drop of water mixed into
a little Gorilla Glue, then pour/squeeze that behind the area to be
re-inforced. use a little masking tape to mold it and keep it from going
where you don't want it to. still might have to trim it back if it blows
into a big glob. If you try this be careful with the water though, it will
blow like a mo-fo and expand all over the place if you're not careful. It
would be a toss up for me doing that vs. similar trick with epoxy (except of
course not adding water to epoxy - instead I'd blend in a fair amount of
good bonding filler, like West Systems 403 or 404)

Last tip is that if you've been trying lots of different glues, you likely
have contaminated the surfaces making each successive try less likely to
succeed... I'd also lightly sand the surface back with a solvent wipe-down
before and after sanding - probably acetone as long as whatever that plastic
is can take it... ("test compatibility before using" as they always say on
the package)
