Well it doesn't look like much, but it is coming together.
My heater core was not leaking hugely, but there was telltale white
residue in the ductwork and the foam on the passenger side end cap was
soaked, so I am presuming that this is where the leaks originate.  The
odor in the passenger compartment was maddening.  Commuted in the pig
this AM and all seems well.
I took the heater core replacement as an opp to also do the console
frame up rebuild.  Mr. Hap can no doubt attest to the perpetual
restoration these old pigs require.
I needed to rearrange the wiring for the V1 and do some re-soldering
of ipod / bluetooth connections.  ( I suk at soldering but got it done
in non record time.)
I also wanted to add two items from the Rossatobin; a "Split Second,
AF meter and a Davtron IC instrument.  Mr Pizzo told me I needed the
Davtron some many years ago and the AF meter receipt, said it has been
stored since,  uhmm.. 2002.  Just running the wiring for these took
way too much time.  There is a small secret hole in the upper right
passenger footwell firewall that had to be drilled a little larger but
I was able to route the wires seemlessly to the motor.
I spent a lot of time pondering how to get all this nicely into the
center console, but will wind up with it in the former ashtay cubby in
order not to hack the console and have it still look like crap.
Helpful hints for heater core replacement?  Take a lot of pics prior
to disassembly and take the time to almost label every screw and notes
too on the order everything comes apart.  I pretty much remembered and
all is great so far, but there is / was angst on getting it
reassembled correctly.
