Because you have a digital camera photograph it at a couple angles altering the 
lighting; then using editing
software like Adove CS5 change it to black and white and you can use filters 
then (red, green, yellow, infra red, etc)

Also, can try a variety of lighting angles to increase the contrast.  On
axis (on camera) flash would be useless.  Can use controlled natural light
in a darkened room.... it doesn't have to be expensive although I have
tungsten lighting as well as remote flashes.
