"Something I need to tackle soon however, is that control arm/subframe bolt.

Any advice on extraction, other that cutting a hole in the inner fender to
access bolt end?

I watched (D2S8) Tozo/Gabor do this while installing springs n shocks on the
neu2me avant two wks. ago.

This is what he had to say:

"I assume he is referring to the lower rear control ARM bolt in the
subframe. That's the one that Audi put from outside in the nut being inside.
They assemble it on the floor and put it in the car. The problem is that you
can't take the bolt out because it hits the wheelwell. You need to lower the
rear part of the subframe to get the bolt out and install it from inside out
the nut being outside."

 

Of course he/we had benefit of lift, tools, prybars, assorted hammers and
impact wrench.
