Soo, are you looking for cheap pistons/rings because you didnt learn your
lesson the first time or are you suspecting your temptation to save is now
costing you?

Did you have the cylinders honed? let alone done properly.. If you threw a
rod, why? were the walls oval at that point? there are a lot of details
omitted that make constructive criticism difficult.

Was the engine warm for the leakdown test?

Before I would criticize the shops work I have learned to criticize the
work/cost that the customer was/is willing to incur..

Not flaming you David, but it sounds like you may have gotten what you paid
for..
