Not Bob here but......
I've had the same experience with the HDs.  1st, I saw them on a friend's 
car and it was noticeably higher than stock.  Then I bought an S6 with HDs, 
same thing.  I'd imagine it is a good thing when the car is seeing lots of 
deep snow, not so cool in looks or handling.
