Unless things have changed in the last couple of years you can (or 
could, anyway) get a Forester 2.5XT w/ a manual tranny.  My wife 
drives an '07 model.  Pretty hot little wagon.  Not up to my RS2ed 
urS6 but still pretty decent performance.  Handles fairly well also.
