[s-cars] Intermittent Brake Light Warning

The trunk lid wires, after many years of cycling the lid will break. This
will not be obvious from the outside of the wire, as they break inside the
insulation. You will need to cut the broken wires and solder in longer
wires to reconnect. I did this once on my old Audi 4000 but have not had it
happen yet to the Urs4. I'm sure that others will pipe in with the same
diagnosis.

Subject: [s-cars] Intermittent Brake Light Warning

S-Gurus,

My 95 S6 has had a brake light warning light on the instrument cluster from
time to time. This is only when my lights are on - either marker lights or
head lights. It doesn't always come one but when it does it will buzz/blink
a couple times and then goes away. Some times it will be followed by a
bulb-out warning light.

I've checked the bulbs and all are working. I haven't been able to jump out
of the car and check the bulbs when the warning lights come on as it is
always when I'm moving down the road. What I need is someone to follow me
so I could radio them when my warning light goes off. Don't make me wait
until the //S-Fest caravan!

Any ideas? I've looked at the harness running through the trunk and don't
see any evidence of worn wires. Any other ideas or known issues?

TIA,

Paul Dooley
95 S6 keeping the last weekend in August open for //S-Fest - just in case
