Jim,
17 years ago I used Sport Wheels in Colorado to rebuild the driveshaft in my '83 UrQ.
As I recall they did a great job. I believe the guy's name was John Beckius.
You should be able to find them via Google.
Good luck,
Mark

Subject: [s-cars] Driveshaft R&R update and ?'s
Hey all,
Finally got some time to take the driveshaft out and assess the needs......the
cv joints on each end are pretty dry and seem to have very little grease left in
them, so looks like I'll just end up replacing both of them. My questions is
about the center bearing......the center did sag a bit, and there is some slight
cracking of the rubber, but all is still intact and moving smoothly. I know I
should just replace it, but the fabrication of the mount is going to prove
beyond my meager means. I'm actually just afraid of "f-"ing it up. So, I'm
looking for a driveshaft specialist in the Colorado area, somewhere between
Denver and Grand Junction, who might be able to put on both cv's for me and
fabricate the center bearing support. Any ideas?
Actually the removal of everything was pretty straighforward, and I'm "tempted"
to just do the two ends and see what happens. Someone please talk some sense
into me and point me in the right direction! Thanks!
Best regards,
Jim Fleischer
