Paul,

Check the immobiliser relay under the knee bolster. There is also an
alarm relay in the engine compartment - in the fuse box.

That's about the limit of my knowledge of the alarm system!!

Anyone any experience on fault finding on those pesky factory alarms?
I've
got three S6s - all near identical late 95/early 96 models. One (with a
bust
engine) has a perfectly functioning alarm. One has an alarm that goes
off
intermittently for no good reason. One has a perfectly functioning
alarm,
but with a dead sounder, so all it does is flash the indicators.

I'd like to cobble together two good alarms out of the three, and put
them
on the two functioning cars.

For starters, where is the alarm ECU - I'm guessing under the back seat.
Where is the sounder - it sounds like it might be in the rear left
somewhere, but it's quite deafening when it goes off, so difficult to
trace
by sound.

Any help appreciate.

I have Bentley, but it's not great at things like this.
