Too much old knowledge clogging up the brain paths.  I first had the "water 
spray no start problem" on a 62 Chevy Belair.  Took two days for that thing 
to start.  The secret then was start it up right away.

Looking at the Audi with all of the electronics, I must have been nuts to 
clear up that car with water as I have many times.  Never had a start 
probelm though.  Anyway, the good news is the Audi was purchased by an Audi 
guy who is restoring it back to running condition.
