Keith, sorry to hear of your troubles... But don't jumpt to conclusions of needing a new head yet! Do a leak down test and see what condition comes back, it's likely the plug backed out on it's own.
I've had the ceramic spark arrest mysteriously dissapear before without damage... Don't give up hope!
Also, you could poke one of those new camera scopes doing the spark plug hole and see what it looks like in there!

I hit "send" prematurely.
Was just going to ask if anyone has ever been here, done this. What are the chances I'll get away needing only a new head? Anybody have a line on a used head for a good deal? Boy, I'm not even sure what else to be asking.
