LL,
Replaced the front sway bar bushings today. Took about 2hrs including trip
to local store to get a new wrench.
It can't be done completely with wheels on the floor as the bushings are
jammed in against the sway bar. So lifted one side of car, undid bolts
(previously treated with PB Blaster). Removed nuts, brackets and old
bushing. On re-install had to lift the sway bar with a second jack to get
the bracket back on. Quite a straightforward job really. And it need doing
as one bushing was in desperate need of replacement.
Cheers,
Tony

If the bushings have a split in them (many do) and they're rubber, you may
not even have to disconnect the bar from the ends. You may want to use
teflon tape around the bar at the bushing instead of (or as a supplement to
grease) as I have found that even marine grease doesn't work real well from
keeping at least polyurethane bushings from squeaking like an old wagon and
it's annoying and embarrasing.

Hi folks,
Whilst installing the new oil cooler I noted that the bushings on the front
sway bar (stabilizer) are pretty much toast. Is it as simple as
disconnecting the sway bar at the control are to replace the two bushings?
Parts are quite cheap, $31 for bushing and $14 for the bracket, so I plan o
replace these.
Any BTDTs.
Cheers,
Tony
