 V70XC is a nice looking machine, handles well, and has good power compared to the Audis.  One of my best mechanic friends is a 30 year master tech - Independent volvo shop in Chicago.  Transmissions aren't a huge/known problem, but those pesky angle gears to the haldex rear (and the controller at the rear diff) are known issues, without a 'upgrade' fix available.  Not a cheap R&R either, that procedure is a few thousand at the dealer.
