Nathaniel,
BOL with the insurance company, done it twice on a 91 200 20V Turbo Avant
and a 95.5 S6A
They are just giving you what the Kelly blue book is telling them it's
worth.
And yes, they will eventually give you what the comparables show.
Do you have loss of use on the 92, go rent a car, as soon as you have a
rental they will cough up an offer.
You're costing them money.
As soon as they give you an offer your rental is up.
If your car is sitting at a tow lot or an Co-Part, go get it, don't let it
go to a Co-Part.
Once the co-part guys get it they set the buy back amount
$600 for my 95.5-S6A, and if I didn't like that it went to their salvage
listings and I would have to bid on it against out of state buyers or
whatever!
My S6A had the top cut off, to get me out, so it wasn't really an option of
rebuilding it
I got $11,000 for my 95.5 S6A, BBK, RS2 Turbo, EM, ECU exhaust system, every
receipt you have..multiple sets of wheels, snow tires.
Minus the deductible minus the buyback
I got $9500 for my 91 200 20VT Avant, their first offer was around $2500.
BBK, recent work on the suspension.multiple sets of wheels, snow
tires.hummm, these look familiar???
Of course minus the deductible, minus the buyback.
I had the 91 200 20V in my driveway, you get to haggle on the buy back
amount, cause it's aint worth squat NOW!
The insurance company started at $2500, and I got them down to something
like $300
And YOU can start to hit them with storage charges!
I bought a replacement hood, bumper cover, fender, and a couple trim pieces
and I was into the 91 for $700.after paint.
But your insurance company may not insure a rebuilt totaled car, ask them!
Go to audifans, quattroworld and anyplace you wish to and find them all the
S4 listings for the 92s (comparables). That may or may not have the upgrades
similar to your car.
Send the insurance adjuster the links and print them individually, sometimes
they don't do email , only fax, so fax them as many listings as you can find
Then go the to the websites that the upgrades came from and print/fax them
the parts and what it costs to buy the upgrades, and the installs.
Keep all the stuff you send them
They will move you around to multiple adjusters, because something might be
out of the scope of the lower level adjuster.
And will lose everything you have sent them.somehow...Just offer to send it
all againJ

I got rear-ended by my buyer (I'm a real estate broker) in her 2005 MBZ CLK
320 $12,000 damage fixable. Mine $6,500 to fix so it's a total and State
Farm wants to give me $2,900 for my '92 S4 Pearl Ecru w/CGR 6-speed, IA
III+, H&R's w/Bilstein Sports, Samco Red, 2Bennett BRBK 4-pot Brembos. We
are both insured with State Farm. They had to order a VIR and I spoke to
the claims rep and maybe will have to do an appraisal. I told State Farm
find me the car for $2,900 in the same shape and buy it for me.
Where is the url that has where the # of these cars were imported to North
America?

BTW- I'm buying the car back, she drives straight and right rear frame rail
damage that can be pulled out and fixed without any pain necessary.
