[s-cars] Brake Master Cylinder Replacement Procedure

Tom,

If my memory serves me correctly:

1. Remove strut tie bar
2. Disconnect hose and remove the resevoir, I plugged the hose port with my finger and after popping the resevoir off with a screwdriver I rotated
the resevoir counter clockwise until it was upside down and didn't lose
much fluid.
3. Disconnect the 2 brake lines
4. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the master cylinder
5. Install the new master cylinder with the 2 bolts
6. Re-attach the brake lines but didn't tighten them
7. Re-install the brake fluid resevoir - I picked up the resevoir with my
finger in the hose port and rotated it clockwise onto the master cylinder
and pressed it into the seals - didn't lose much fluid.
8. Re-fill/top off the brake fluid in the resevoir - I didn't need much fluid.
9. I pumped the master cylinder and my assistant bled air from the
system by cracking the brake lines open at the master cylinder, this  seemed to minimize how much air got into the rest of the system.
10. Blead the brakes at each caliper
11. Re-install strut tie bar

If the four flexible brake lines haven't been replaced now would be a good time to consider doing so, yo don't want one to fail BTDT!

Chris
