No need to go wild ripping things apart.
i dunno about part nos., but the heater core i put over the summer was from autohauz and looked very oemish.
i also have a new all metal one on the shelf if anyone wants it for $25 shipped. should work fine but lacks the foam wrap of oem & the connecting tubes look to be a little smaller than oem, but workable.
anyway, the console only need be loosened and pulled back some. you only have to remove the L and R vents and two electrical connectors. There is a write up this on qworld faqs.
consider that once the left and right vents are removed and the red and blue electrical connectors are disconnected, there is nothing more holding it in from inside the cabin.
from beneath the plenum, its just "nuts n bolts" to remove to get it out, although the gasket may stick a bit and it is a very tight tolerance, it will come out. i sat upon a heavy blanket atop the engine, and pulled hard.
you may want to get a new oem gasket or i used a HD waterproof one... (foam that wont leak).
i used a little silicon caulk around the edge for overkill.
WRT the seat... dunno if all the plastic covers are still on your seat, but beneath the forward n backward swirch cover, there are three controls; the middle one moves forward and back. this must be oriented in the correct direction to get the seat to move. so, if the cover is missing in has to be turned correctly for the seat to work. play with it and you will see.
BTW, you should also do a new fan (which i also got from autohauz.)
good luck!
