[s-cars] Nuts

I don't know, honestly.  But I noticed the smell of exhaust coming through the HVAC while stopped at lights, shortly after I got the car back from the clutch swap.  I was no longer living near the shop so I never got around to taking the car back in, and the workaround was to run the AC on recirculate so that's what I did.  Now it doesn't stay on recirculate any more (even with AC on), so that's another problem I'll have to track down.

Doesn't the downpipe have to come off in order to do the clutch replacement?  I don't see how you can get the transmission out without removing the downpipe.  It doesn't explain the turbo to exhaust manifold nuts, though.  I replaced all of the nuts with new ones when I installed the GT2871 hybrid years ago, since they're supposed to be one-time use.  I suspect the shop reused the ones on the downpipe, but still don't see why they'd need to mess with the ones connecting to the exhaust manifold.

M10 x 1.5.  Thanks, I was going to get them from McMaster-Carr but realized 034 has them too so I'll try to stop by there tomorrow.  They've got the copper-plated ones for $2 that have 14mm heads, and "aircraft quality turbo lock nuts" that cost $5 each but also have 12mm heads which could make it quite a bit easier to wrench on them.  Not sure which ones to get - am I going to have to remove the flex coupling anyway in order to get at the exhaust manifold nuts?

8x1.5

Why pull the turbo for a clutch R&R?

I actually have a nice picture of most related parts, with P/N's if anyone has a photo hosting account, I could send the picture for use as a helpful link.

Just this week I had to pull my turbo to replace 2 broken studs in it from what should have been a simple downpipe R&R to cut/weld in a new flex section to my Stromung DP that needs attention at least every 2 years.

I noticed today that several of the nuts from the turbo plumbing have disappeared, most likely worked loose after the clutch replacement about 18 months ago.  I'm missing one of the turbo to downpipe nuts, and two of the turbo to RS2 exhaust manifold nuts (diagonally opposite each other). Anybody remember what size these nuts are?
