[s-cars] coolant leak

I've had to replace this on all three of mine now. Once I didn't have the
correct replacement hose, and the one I used only lasted a year. Last time I
did a t-belt, I replaced the hose pipe even though it wasn't leaking, just
because it was so easy to get at.

First four times I did it, I didn't take off any manifolds. I just removed
the large hose pipe (air intake) from the throttle body, and removed the
large water hose pipe to the engine to get a bit of access. It was really
difficult to remove, and also really difficult to put the new pipe in
place - you need very strong fingers.

If I were doing it again, I'd be tempted to remove a lot more to improve
access - From memory, if you remove the hydraulic pump, and maybe the
bracket, it gets much easier.

I have recently discovered I had a a slow coolant leak and today I was
able to locate it but I'm not sure just how to fix it. The patient is a
95 S6 and the leak under the water manifold where there is a hardline
connecting to a hose with a clamp on it. I've traced the hardline
directly to the turbo and could see moisture accumulate against the
block just under the hose clamp (and after 10 minutes of watching I
finally witnessed a drop from the hose clamp). When I say slow leak, I
mean about 1-cup a week so it took me a couple weeks to finally locate
this (that and it was always raining to it made it tough to see moisture
where it doesn't belong).

Reference location is ETKA illustration 145-25 items 24, 25, and 27

My question is, how is the easiest way to access this hose and clamp?
It looks like I'm going to have to remove the intake manifold at a
minimum and very likely will have to remove the water manifold too. Any
BTDT's available on this small hose replacement?

TIA,
Paul Dooley
