There is lots of traffic on this subject and many others on the UrS4/
UrS6/S2/RS2 forum on quattroworld. com. I recommend you supplement
your coverage of the s-car-list by subscribing to and reading threads
of interest and FAQ topics on the forum.

HOH is the rebuilder of choice for the "J" hose as they have over 10
years experience with repairing this hose and do it right. If you
understand the issues with rebuilding the hose and can actively
participate with a local hose shop, it can be done there.

I have #15 and #16 hose repair jobs by HOH presently enroute to me, so
I will have an available hose in a few days. I don't sell hoses.
My routine has been to loan
my hose out with the recipient then having their hose repaired and
returned to me as replacement. This service has been running me
between $108 and $110 when I ship them a hose. The repair itself has
been pretty steady at $87.34. So I am open to a direct swap and I
will handle the repair for $110 +shipping cost for my hose to you and
you ship your hose to me at your cost. Or the original way of I ship
my hose to you and you take care of getting a repaired hose sent to me
in replacement + pay for the shipping cost to send my hose to you.

The "J" hose is a power brake hose. The power steering hose is a
completely different matter. A new hose is less expensive but not by
much, but the repair, whether by a local shop or HOH is less of a slam-
dunk. In fact, maybe 20% result in unusable hoses that cause pulsing
and jerking in the steering. Since both hose are of a similar age, it
is something to think about for developing a plan.

This is also a time to inspect the hydraulic system and clean up any
mess from leaks as well as fix all the little seepage, and evaluate
the cleanliness of the system inside. Flush the old fluid and add a
3/8" magnefine filter to the return line to keep the new fluid
sparkling clean.

Email me directly if interested.
