[s-cars] Fuel Pump R&R urS6 avant

Hey guys,

I'm replacing the fuel pump in my avant today (hopefully!) and found a good writeup on Quattroworld by Dave F.  (Thanks Dave!)  Just a couple questions, as this is my daily driver and can't afford to screw this up today!

First off, where is the pump on the avant?  Figured I'd pinpoint it before I started taking up carpet haphazardly.  My car has the third row seat if that matters.

I replaced the fuel filter a couple months ago....it is recommended to replace the filter when replacing the pump.  Do I really need to at this point since it was replaced so recently? (It would take me out of the game today unfortunately.)

Are there any specific tools needed?

Any helpful BTDT's?  Encouragements welcome.....

The tank is drained about as far as I can without getting stuck on the side of the road and I have the afternoon off......thanks for the help fellas!
