Thanks for the response, but there is considerable confusion here on the list about which hose has the restrictor.
I sent them the hose that goes from the pump to the bomb, and it DID have a restrictor in it. The hose from my pump to the rack has no restrictor, no insulation, and is not leaking on my car.
Sure hope I'm wrong and everything is as it should be, but my internal skeptical meter is a bit pegged right now.

Dennis,
Is this the J-hose that feeds the bomb or the hose that goes to the steering
ack?
I had my J-hose rebuilt by HOH 3 years ago. I was happy with the 3-piece
olution: easy to install thanks to its adjustability and the rubber
ection can be more easily replaced in the future if required. I'm not sure
f the J-hose has a restrictor. It runs at very high pressure.
owever, I must confess that I used an OEM replacement for my rack hose.
hile some listers reported a successful HOH rebuild of the rack hose
retaining the restrictor), others reported a moaning sound from the power
teering after the rebuild. I didn't want to take chance so I went OEM for
hat one.
