No, not once did I compare all-seasons to race tires in that message, please read it again.

 The grip of the DWS's as compared to ANYTHING was horrid. Other cars on various other street tires had MUCH more grip. 

With the amount of water on the track in the morning running the race tires would have been impossible so the choice was don't run or run the street tires. It was a private track day so there was no vendor available to buy tires from, and I wouldn't have anyways. Buying race wets for an less-than-HPDE level event where I was just having fun and instructing is stupid. I was expecting anything great, but they were horrible. 

DWS stands for Dry, Wet, Snow. That means they should have some wet capability. They didn't.
